The role
Seven hundred Ghanaians will carry this platform into sixteen regions. You will lead every one of them. This is the most senior operational appointment in this company. Sankofa Job is not being launched by advertising. It is being launched by trained people standing in markets, campuses, workshops and businesses, in their own communities and their own languages. That structure is our entire strategy, and it either works or the launch does not. You own it. The Ambassadors, the coordinators, the volunteers, the interns, the training, the payments, the standards and the results. You report to the Founder and Chief Executive.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the national Ambassador programme end to end, across all sixteen regions. Recruit, train, deploy and lead sixteen Regional Coordinators, and through them one hundred Ambassadors and six hundred volunteers, interns and district ambassadors. Own the training standard. Nobody speaks for this company without orientation, a code and a toolkit. Hold the verification standard. No reward is paid on an unverified result, and you defend that under pressure from people chasing targets. Guarantee that every person is paid on the stated date, and never later than seven days from verification. Own the numbers: employers onboarded, profiles completed, hires confirmed, and regional balance. Build the progression pathway that moves an Ambassador to Senior Ambassador, to paid Coordinator, to staff. Report to the Founder weekly, honestly, including in the weeks the figures disappoint. Represent the programme to associations, assemblies, institutions and the press. Success looks like: all sixteen regions active, every person paid on time every month, and the first Ambassadors converted into permanent staff.
Requirements
- Two or more years leading distributed teams, of which at least four at senior or director level. Proven experience running a field force, agent network, sales force, community programme or similar structure at regional or national scale. Demonstrable record of building and retaining teams, not simply managing them. Strong understanding of Ghana beyond Accra and Kumasi. Fluent English plus at least one Ghanaian language, ideally two. Financial discipline and comfort owning a budget. Willingness to travel across all sixteen regions. Unimpeachable integrity. This role controls payments to hundreds of people. Sector. Operations and Employment Services Experience level. Executive Responsibilities, day to day and what success looks like Your week is a weekly call with sixteen coordinators, a review of every region against target, verification sampling, sign off on payments, and time in the field rather than behind a desk. You should be in a different region most weeks. Success in the first quarter is one hundred Ambassadors appointed and trained by 30 September, five hundred verified employers by 30 October, and not one late payment. Success in the first year is a structure that runs without you in the room.
Benefits
Performance component tied to employers onboarded and hires confirmed. Vehicle or transport allowance. Device, data and travel allowances. Health cover for self and family. Annual professional development budget. A seat at the executive table of a company building national infrastructure. Growth path to Chief Operating Officer.
