The practical side of coming home
They came home. Your story is next.
The first stories on this wall will be yours. Tell the next person what you wish someone had told you.

I left Ghana very young, on my first trip outside the country, with a book bag, my documents and no money. I had never even seen a dollar. I landed in a snowy New York in February, and a family relative was waiting for me at the airport. That one kind hand helped me cross the bridge. I worked and studied until I became a pharmacist and pharmacy manager in Manhattan. I still work there today, but I travel home often, because my heart never left Kumasi. What brought me back was simple. Every time I came home, I met brilliant young Ghanaians with skills and certificates, still waiting for "someone who knows someone." Talent is everywhere here. Access is not. So I came back to build that access. To anyone still deciding: yes, come. You do not have to come back all at once. Start with one step, one project, one young person you help. Ghana does not need you to be perfect. It needs what you have learned out there, brought back home. Sankofa means go back and get it. I went back. Your story is next.
