On Sankofa Job, the gold verified badge next to an employer's name means we have confirmed that the business is genuine. It is our way of separating real employers from scams, duplicates, and ghost listings — so when you apply, you know exactly who you are applying to.
Employers earn the badge by completing verification through the NIA (National Identification Authority) or by submitting their company registration documents to our team. A registered Ghanaian business name, a matching registration number, and a valid point of contact are all required before a badge is issued. We review every submission before the badge appears.
For job seekers, this is the difference between a platform you can trust and one you cannot. Verified employers are more likely to respond, to pay the salary they advertise, and to honour the terms of a role. You can filter jobs to show only verified employers from the Jobs page — and you should, especially for roles that ask for personal details or upfront documents.
Verification is not permanent or automatic. If an employer's details change or a listing is reported, we re-check and can revoke the badge. If you ever see something that does not look right on a listing, use the report flag and our team will review it within 24 hours.
